An international event that took place at the Museo Ciudad de Mula (October 29-31, 2018) marked the first phase of the CRAFTER project. This “CRAFTER” International Meeting brought together almost 30 professionals to share ideas and experiences through presentations, a round table and demonstrations of experimental pottery.

From this event, common strategies resulted, encouraging the participating potters to devise new cultural products inspired by those made during the Bronze Age in Europe while giving greater insight into the archaeological heritage that inspires them. On the last day of the event, there were guided tours of the Argaric sites of La Almoloya (Pliego) and La Bastida (Totana). And, it ended with two pottery workshops in the Ciudad Alfarera (Pottery Town) of Totana in the facilities of Bellón Alfareros and Hernández Alfareros. This first significant activity of the CRAFTER project was framed in the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018 thus giving it an added distinction.
