The settlement is on a small hill next to the Sisquilla watercourse. It is  7 kilometres from La Bastida and 3 kilometres from the town of Totana, occupying an area of almost 1000 m2. Like the Argaric deposit of Cabeza Gorda some 2 km to the north, it has excellent visibility over the Guadalentín valley.

It is an atypical settlement that was not inhabited by a permanent community, similar to those industrial areas in the outskirts of our current cities.

Tira del Lienzo is around some 35 m above the adjacent plain, Controlling the fertile lands of the Guadalentín valley

Human activity also leaves its mark. In 2004, most of the hill disappeared due to the extraction of aggregates. Fortunately, this did not affect the settlement.
